Can i get both, college funding from Dependents’ Educational Assistance, and Pell Grants?

I know I am eligible for Dependents’ Educational Assistance through the Department of Veterans Affairs but can I receive Pell Grants at the same simultaneously.

In other words is it an "either/or" type thing with pell grants and Dependents’ Educational Assistance like i can only get one or the other? Can i get both?

Again, if you have a dependent of your own… since you said you have an 8 month old son, I doubt you are considered a dependent of your Dad for his vet benefits. But yes, you can get funding from a Pell grant and from many sources. Including scholarships you apply for and receive.

I think you actually can get both. I read "National Grant Secrets" this past weekend and used the software before I submitted my application for a grant and I think I saw a section about this.

You should go ahead and apply for both of the grants. Although you will probably only get one, it’s worth a try for the second.

To be completely sure, you should go through National Grant Secrets. It’s a really good guide about grants and it even has a software to make your entire application. I’ve done one grant without it and one with it, and in my experience, it’s 20 times easier with National Grant Secrets.
