Mayor David N. Cicilline announce a $565,000 federal stimulus that will help reduce Providences carbon footprint by transforming 42 City trucks into greener vehicles. Providence is the only city in New England selected to receive the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The grant money will be used to reduce emissions in City trucks by 90% by retrofitting the trucks with verified emissions control technologies.
